Fixed optics mean your pillars need to face each other squarely
The DEA Linear XS has fixed optics, not adjustable. The transmitter and receiver must be mounted directly facing one another, because there is no swivel adjustment to correct for pillars that are slightly out of true.
On a new gate with square, plumb pillars this is not an issue. If you are retrofitting older pillars, or a gate that has settled slightly over time, DEA’s standard Linear model has adjustable optics up to 180 degrees and corrects for exactly this. Tell us if your pillars are not perfectly parallel and we will point you to the right version.

The 20 metre figure is the assured distance in poor visibility, which is the number to plan your gate opening width around. The 40 metre figure is the best case in clear conditions, and it is not the one to rely on.
Compatibility
Unlike a remote control, a photocell safety pair works on a simple standard interface that almost every gate motor control board accepts, whatever brand you have. This pair will work with BFT, CAME, NICE, FAAC, Beninca, Life, SOMMER, SOMFY and DEA motors alike, as long as the control board runs on 24V, which the great majority do.
What is included
- One transmitter unit
- One receiver unit
Quoted separately: mounting posts if your pillars need them, and installation.
Installation
Our engineer mounts the transmitter and receiver at matching height on opposite pillars, confirms direct alignment since this model has no adjustable optics, runs the cable back to the control board, and tests the safety cut out before handover.
We install across all eleven governorates from our shop in Al Khuwair.
Common questions
Do I need to align these carefully?
Yes, more than most photocells. This version has fixed optics, so the transmitter and receiver need to face each other directly. If your pillars are not square, ask us about the adjustable Linear model instead.
Will this work with my gate motor brand?
Almost certainly, yes. Photocells use a standard safety interface, so this pair works across brands, provided your control board runs on 24V.
What is the real range I can rely on?
20 metres. The 40 metre figure is a best case number in clear conditions and is not the one to plan a gate width around.
What is the price?
OMR 32.300 for the transmitter and receiver pair.
