About Roger in Oman
Roger Technology is an Italian manufacturer with a claim few of its competitors can make: it was the first to build a full digital brushless range for gate automation. We stock Roger at our shop in Al Khuwair, Muscat, and our own engineers install across all eleven governorates.
Sliding operators from 600 kg upwards, brushless swing actuators rated for a thousand cycles a day, control units, E80 remotes and R90 photocells.
Which Roger gate motor suits your gate
Start with the gate type and its weight or leaf length. This table narrows it before anything else matters.
| Your gate | Weight or leaf length | Roger model |
|---|---|---|
| Sliding | Up to 600 kg | H30/645 or H30/646 |
| Sliding | Up to 640 kg | H30/640 |
| Sliding | Up to 800 kg | R30/800 |
| Sliding | Up to 1,200 kg | R30/1200 |
| Sliding, brushless | Heavy daily use | BH30 series |
| Swing, brushless | Leaf to 2.8 m | BE20/200, 24V |
| Swing, brushless | Leaf to 4 m | BE20/400, 36V |
| Swing, 230V | Leaf to 3.5 m | R23 |
Between two models? Send us the gate weight and width on WhatsApp and we will tell you which one we would fit ourselves.
What brushless means on a Roger gate motor
A conventional gate motor uses carbon brushes to carry current to the rotating part of the motor. Brushes wear down, they generate heat, and eventually they need replacing. A brushless motor has none, switching electronically instead.
What that buys you in practice:
- Far higher duty cycle. Roger rates its brushless swing actuators for up to 1,000 cycles a day, which is compound gate territory rather than villa gate territory
- No brushes to replace, so one fewer wear part over the motor’s life
- Less heat for the same work, which matters more here than it does in Europe
- Finer control, because the electronics know the rotor position and can ramp speed smoothly
Brushless costs more up front. On a quiet villa gate opening a few times a day, a standard motor is the sensible buy. On a shared compound entrance, a staff car park or anywhere the gate runs all day through an Omani summer, brushless is what the extra money is for.
How to read a Roger model number
Two things to know, and both catch people out.
A B at the front means brushless. BH30 is the brushless version of the H30 sliding range. BE20 is the brushless swing range. No B means a conventional motor.
The number after the slash is a model code, not the gate weight. The H30/645 is rated for 600 kg. The H30/640 is rated for 640 kg. The higher model number carries the lower rating. Match the full code, never the number on its own.
You will also see some units sold as KIT, which ships with remotes, photocells and rack, and others sold as the bare motor. Check which one a price refers to before comparing quotes.
Roger sliding gate motors, the H30 and R30 series
The H30 series covers residential and light commercial sliding gates up to around 600 to 640 kg, running on 230V, with the H70 control unit and an optical encoder built into the motor rather than sitting in a separate box on the wall.
The R30 series steps up to 800 kg and 1,200 kg for compound and commercial entrances. The BH30 series is the brushless line for gates that run constantly.
All of them are rack driven, so the gate needs rack along the full length of the leaf. Kits typically include 4 metres, which does not cover a long gate, and we stock extra sections. Our Roger H30/645 is in stock from OMR 209.340 as a complete kit. See the rest in sliding gate motors.
Roger swing gate motors, the BE20 brushless series
The BE20 range is where Roger’s brushless engineering shows most clearly. These are above ground linear actuators with a native encoder built in, rated for super intensive use.
| Model | Voltage | Leaf length |
|---|---|---|
| BE20/200 | 24V DC | Up to 2.8 m |
| BE20/400 | 36V DC | Up to 4 m |
Because they run on low voltage DC they also take backup batteries, so the gate keeps working through a power cut. The R23 is the conventional 230V alternative for leaves up to 3.5 metres, fitted without an articulated arm.
See swing gate motors.
Roger control units, remotes and photocells
H70 is the control unit family, and on most H30 units it is built into the motor housing rather than mounted separately. E80 is the remote range. R90 is the photocell pair that carries the safety beam across the entrance.
Before ordering a spare remote, tell us your motor model. Roger has revised its radio coding across generations, and we would rather check compatibility than have you find out at the gate. See remotes and accessories and gate spare parts.
Roger also builds automatic barriers and operators for sectional, overhead and industrial doors. Ask us if you need one of those and we will confirm availability and lead time.
Buying Roger gate motors in Oman
We hold Roger stock at Shop No 176, Way Street No 57, Block No 17/2, Al Khuwair, Muscat. You can come and see a motor before you buy it, which an online only seller cannot offer.
We do not take payment online. Every order is confirmed by phone or WhatsApp first, so we can check the model suits your gate before anything is dispatched, and payment is on delivery. We install in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Salalah, Sur, Duqm and every other governorate. See our gate automation installation service.
Common questions about Roger gate motors in Oman
What does the B mean in BH30 or BE20?
It means brushless. BH30 is the brushless version of the H30 sliding range and BE20 is the brushless swing range. A series without a B uses a conventional brushed motor.
Is a brushless gate motor worth the extra cost?
On a busy compound or commercial entrance, yes, because it handles far more cycles per day and runs cooler. On a quiet villa gate opening a few times a day, a standard motor does the same job for less.
Does the number after the slash mean the gate weight?
No, it is a model code. The H30/645 is rated for 600 kg while the H30/640 is rated for 640 kg. Always match the full model code.
Which Roger motor do I need for my gate?
For a sliding gate, match the model to your gate weight in kilograms. For a swing gate, match it to your leaf length. Send us both figures and we will confirm.
Do you supply Roger spare parts in Oman?
Yes. E80 remotes, R90 photocells, H70 control units and rack are stocked at our Al Khuwair shop.
