About Gate Remotes and Accessories in Oman

Gate remotes control and accessories in Oman

Genuine handsets and the parts that go around them. BFT Mitto, CAME TOP, Beninca TO GO and Nice, from OMR 6, held on the shelf at our shop in Al Khuwair and delivered anywhere in Oman.

Bring the gate remote you already have and we will match it across the counter. Buy it from us and we pair it for you at no charge.

No, the man at the mall cannot copy it

This is the most common misunderstanding we deal with, and it costs people money every week.

Every modern gate remote uses rolling code. The signal changes on every press, so a copying machine at a kiosk records a code that has already expired by the time it is played back. It might open your gate once on the day it was made and then never again, which is exactly the complaint we hear.

A rolling code handset has to be paired to the control board, not copied from another handset. That is a two minute job at the board, and we do it free for any remote bought from us.

Old fixed code remotes from the nineteen nineties can genuinely be copied. If your gate is that old, the copy will work, and it also means anyone with a scanner can open your gate. That is worth knowing.

Which remote do you need

Three things identify it, and a photograph of each is faster than trying to describe them.

  • The back of your old handset. The brand and model are printed there, along with the frequency, usually 433.92 MHz or 868 MHz. Those two are not interchangeable.
  • The plate on the motor. BFT, CAME, Beninca, FAAC, Nice, Life and so on. The receiver is usually the same brand as the operator.
  • The number of buttons you actually use. A two channel handset opens one gate. A four channel opens a gate and a garage door, or a gate and a barrier.

Send those photographs on WhatsApp and we will tell you exactly which handset fits, before you buy anything.

Pairing a new handset

On most boards it is a button on the receiver, held until a light changes, then a press on the new handset. The exact sequence differs by brand and by board revision, which is why a generic instruction sheet is often useless.

Buy from us and we do it. Buy elsewhere and call us anyway, and we will talk you through the sequence for your specific board over the phone at no charge. It takes two minutes and it is not worth a call out for either of us.

The accessories

The parts that fail or get knocked, all held in stock:

  • Keypads for code entry, so nobody has to carry a handset
  • Card and tag readers for compounds and staff car parks
  • Long range UHF readers, so vehicles are read without stopping
  • Phone control modules, to open the gate from an app
  • Warning beacons, and replacement lenses
  • Handset batteries, the cause of a surprising number of emergency call outs

Looking for something that has failed rather than something to add? Control boards, photocells, capacitors, rollers, rack and springs are on our gate spare parts page.

Delivered across Oman

Small items reach most governorates within a few days, cash on delivery, from our shop in Al Khuwair. If you are in Muscat you are welcome to collect and have it paired at the counter while you wait.

Not sure what has failed? Send a photograph of the gate and tell us what it is doing. We will tell you which part you need, and sometimes that it is a flat battery and you need nothing at all. See also gate motor repair.
