MARANTEC in Oman, supplied and installed

Marantec in Oman

Marantec builds in Marienfeld, in western Germany, and has done since the nineteen fifties. Along with SOMMER it is the German half of our range, and like SOMMER its strength is garage doors rather than gates.

What we hold

• Comfort series garage door openers, for sectional and up and over doors
• SZ13 and equivalent units for standard villa garages
• Sliding gate operators
• Remote handsets, receivers and photocells

Quiet, which is the whole point

A great many villas in Muscat have a bedroom directly above the garage. A chain drive opener at six in the morning is a genuine domestic problem, and it is the reason people replace a working unit.

Marantec’s Comfort openers use a soft start and soft stop rather than jerking at each end of travel. The door accelerates and slows gently, which is quieter and which also puts far less strain on the springs, tracks and rollers. In this climate those are already fighting heat expansion and dust in the guides, so anything that reduces the shock load extends the life of the whole door, not just the motor.

Specify by weight, not by width

An insulated sectional door is much heavier than a thin steel up and over of the same size, and a unit sized to just cope will not cope through an Omani summer. We size a class above as standard.

Send us a photograph of the door from inside the garage and we will tell you what it needs. See also garage door openers.
