This needs a control board with a 2 wire photocell input
The Marantec Special 630 connects using Marantec’s own 2 wire technology, where power, signal and a self test all run over just two wires. Your control board needs a matching 2 wire light barrier input for this to work.
Our Marantec garage door openers have this input built in, which is why this is the correct native photocell if you already own a Marantec system. Most other brands in this trade, BFT, CAME, NICE, FAAC, Beninca and Life among them, use a different, more common 3 wire connection instead, and this photocell is not built for that interface.
If you are not sure which type your control board has, our DEA Linear XS photocell uses the more universal 3 wire style and suits almost any brand. Tell us your gate motor brand before ordering, and we will point you to the right one.

Choosing the right mounting version
Marantec sells this photocell in a standard kit, with an installation bracket set, and in a version built specifically for mounting into a thin, 1 mm thick garage door frame. Tell us how you plan to mount it, on a pillar with a bracket, or recessed into the door frame itself, so we send the correct version.

Installation
Our engineer confirms your control board has a 2 wire photocell input before fitting, mounts the transmitter and receiver at matching height, runs the two wire connection back to the board, and tests the safety cut out.

Only if your control board has a 2 wire photocell input. Our Marantec drives have this. If you have a different brand, tell us and we will confirm, or point you to our DEA Linear XS instead, which is built for the more common 3 wire type.
