01
Survey
We measure the opening, weigh or estimate the leaf, check the ground condition and find where the power will come from. If the gate itself needs work before it can be automated, we say so at this point rather than after you have paid.
-
02
Specification and quotation
A written quotation in Omani rial naming the exact model, the safety devices, the cabling and the labour. No allowances, no items to be confirmed later. Free, and yours to keep whether you order or not.
-
03
Supply
Stock comes from our own shop in Al Khuwair, so most jobs start within days rather than waiting on an order from abroad. Everything is genuine and traceable to the manufacturer.
-
04
Installation
Our own engineers, never a subcontractor. Foundation, mounting, rack alignment, cable runs in conduit, photocells and beacon fitted, control board wired and earthed.
-
05
Commissioning and handover
Travel limits and force settings adjusted, safety devices tested, remotes paired, manual release demonstrated to you, and the warranty written on your invoice.
Recent installations
Our own work, photographed on site. Villas, compounds, industrial yards and institutional entrances across Oman.

What the price covers
Most complaints about gate installers in Oman come down to what was assumed rather than agreed. So here it is in writing, before you ask for a quotation.
Always included
- Site survey and written quotation
- The operator, control board and its casing
- Two remote handsets, paired and tested
- A pair of safety photocells
- Warning beacon where the layout needs one
- Cable from the controller to each device, in conduit
- Mounting plate, fixings and foundation bolts
- Travel limits and force settings adjusted on site
- Manual release demonstrated to you in person
- Warranty terms written on the invoice
Quoted separately, never assumed
- Civil work, trenching or breaking concrete
- Bringing mains power to the gate position
- Welding or straightening the gate itself
- New wheels, track or rack on a worn sliding gate
- Extra remotes beyond the two supplied
- Keypads, card readers, intercoms and RFID
- Backup battery for operation during a power cut
- Painting or making good after installation
If your gate needs any of these we tell you at the survey, with a figure, not on the day of installation.

Safety is not an upgrade
A powered gate is a heavy moving object next to children, cars and delivery drivers. Every installation we do leaves site with the safety devices fitted and proven, because an operator that cannot detect an obstruction is a liability, not a convenience.
- PhotocellsA beam across the opening. Anything crossing it stops the gate and reverses it.
- Force limitingThe controller is set so the gate stops when it meets resistance, not after it has pushed through.
- Warning beaconA flashing light before and during travel, so nobody is surprised by a gate starting to move.
- Manual releaseEvery operator can be released by hand and moved during a power cut. We show you how and leave you the key.
What it costs
Supplied and fitted, in Omani rial. Below each band is what puts a job at the lower end and what puts it at the upper one, so you can place your own gate before you call us.
Sliding gate motors
OMR 180 to 500
OMR 180 fits a villa gate under 600 kg with power already at the pillar. The upper end is an industrial gate over 1,800 kg on a new rack run.
Swing gate motors
OMR 250 to 800
A pair of linear arms on a light double gate sits at the lower end. Underground operators cost more because the pits have to be excavated and drained before anything is fitted.
Parking barriers
OMR 400 to 1,500
A three metre boom on an existing base is the lower figure. A six metre boom with a poured foundation, loop detectors and long range RFID reaches the upper one.
All figures assume the mains supply is near the gate and the gate runs freely by hand. Anything beyond that is measured at the survey and quoted before we start. Every quotation is free and written.
What decides where you land
- Weight of the leafA 400 kg gate and a 1,800 kg gate need different classes of operator. This is the largest single factor.
- How often it runsA villa gate opening six times a day and a compound gate opening two hundred times need different duty ratings.
- Distance to powerTwo metres of cable or forty metres of trenched conduit is a real difference in labour.
- Condition of the gateA gate that binds, drops or runs on worn wheels has to be corrected first. Automating a faulty gate destroys the motor.
- Access controlA pair of remotes is included. Keypads, readers, intercoms and long range RFID are quoted on top.

Questions we are asked
How much does gate automation cost in Oman
Supplied and fitted, sliding gate motors run from OMR 180 to OMR 500, swing gate motors from OMR 250 to OMR 800, and parking barriers from OMR 400 to OMR 1,500. Where you land inside a band depends on the weight of the gate, how far the power has to travel, and whether the gate runs freely before we touch it. The motor is only part of the figure. We survey and quote free, in writing, so you see the whole number before you commit to anything.
How long does an installation take
A straightforward sliding or swing gate is usually one day on site. A barrier on a new foundation needs two visits, because the concrete has to cure before the barrier is set on it. Anything involving trenching for power adds a day.
Can you automate my existing gate
Usually yes. What matters is whether the gate runs freely by hand. If it binds, drops at the far end or the wheels have worn flat, that has to be corrected first, otherwise the motor is doing the work the gate should be doing and it will fail early. We check this at the survey and tell you plainly.
How do I know how heavy my gate is
Most people do not, and that is fine. Send us a photograph with something for scale and tell us the opening width, and we can estimate closely enough to quote. A solid steel sheet gate of six metres will usually be somewhere between 500 kg and 900 kg. An open bar gate of the same width is often half that. We confirm it properly at the survey, and we always specify a motor with headroom above the estimate rather than one that is working at its limit.
What power supply does the gate need
A single phase 230 V supply at the gate position, on its own protected circuit. Most operators draw very little in normal use. If there is no power near the gate we quote the cable run and the conduit as a separate line so you can see exactly what that part costs. Solar is possible for a light gate in a remote location, and we will tell you honestly whether your gate is a realistic candidate.
What happens in a power cut
Every operator we fit has a manual release. You unlock it with the supplied key and move the gate by hand. If you would rather the gate kept working normally, a backup battery typically gives you somewhere around ten to fifteen open and close cycles before mains returns, depending on the gate. That is quoted separately because most villa customers decide they do not need it.
How long will the motor last
A correctly specified residential operator that is serviced should give ten to fifteen years. A commercial gate running two hundred cycles a day is a different matter and may need replacing in five to eight years, because it is the cycle count that wears the machine out, not the calendar. The two things that shorten this most are undersizing the motor for the gate and never servicing it. Both are avoidable.
Will the heat and dust in Oman damage it
They are the two things that kill gate motors here, and it is worth understanding why. Above 45 degrees a motor that is already working hard will hit its thermal cutout and stop until it cools, which owners often mistake for a fault. Blown sand settles into sliding gate tracks and rollers, and the extra rolling resistance makes the motor work harder still, which brings the heat problem forward.
Two things prevent most of it. Specify a motor with real headroom over the gate weight rather than one that just about copes, and keep the track clear. We size for the climate as standard, not as an upgrade.
How often should it be serviced
Twice a year for a villa gate in Oman, which is more often than the manufacturer will tell you, because manufacturers write for European conditions. A service means clearing the track, checking and lubricating rollers and hinges, cleaning and realigning the photocells, retesting the force settings and checking the manual release still works. A commercial or compound gate running all day should be looked at quarterly.
Can I open the gate from my phone
Yes, on most modern control boards. It is a module that connects the controller to your home network, and then the gate opens from an app on any phone you authorise. It is genuinely useful when you need to let a driver or a guest in while you are not at home. Tell us at the survey if you want it, because it is easier and cheaper to include from the start than to add later.
How many remotes do I get, and can I add a keypad
Two remote handsets are included and paired before we leave. Extra handsets can be added at any time, and we can pair them for you or show you how to do it yourself. A keypad, a card or tag reader, an intercom or a long range RFID reader for vehicles can all be wired into the same controller. Those are quoted separately because most villa customers do not need them and we would rather not pad the price.
My gate has stopped working. Do you repair as well as install
Yes, and most repairs are cheaper than people expect. The common causes are a photocell knocked out of alignment, a flat remote battery, a tripped breaker, a worn roller loading the motor, or a control board damaged by heat. Send us a photograph of the model plate on the motor and tell us what the gate is doing, and we can usually identify the fault and give you a figure before anyone drives out to you.
Do you install equipment I bought elsewhere
Yes, we fit customer supplied equipment. The labour warranty still applies to our work. The equipment warranty is a matter between you and wherever you bought it, and if the unit is underspecified for the gate we will say so before fitting it.
What warranty do I get
The manufacturer warranty on the equipment plus our warranty on the installation, both written on your invoice at handover. Because we supply and fit, there is no argument about whether a fault is the product or the installation. It is ours either way.
Do you work with contractors and installers
Yes. A large part of our work is supplying and commissioning for construction contractors and electrical subcontractors. Trade terms are available, message us and tell us what you are working on.
