The number after the slash is a model code, not the gate weight
This is the point that catches people out on Roger’s H30 range. H30/645 is rated for 600 kg. H30/640 is rated for 640 kg. The higher model number carries the lower weight rating.

You will also see this unit listed simply as “Roger 600 kg” in some places, which is the weight rather than the model. If you are cross checking a manual, a spare part or another quote, match the full model code and not the number alone. Roger also builds a parallel BH30 brushless series at similar numbers, which is a different line again.
Kit or motor only, check what you are buying
Roger sells the KIT H30/645 and the bare H30/645 as separate products. The KIT ships with remotes, photocells, a blinker and rack. The bare motor ships on its own.

Keep the track clear, this motor works by rolling resistance
The stated maximum thrust is 300 N. Thrust on a sliding gate is about overcoming rolling resistance rather than lifting weight, so the figure is not comparable to a swing motor and a lower number is not automatically a weakness.
What it does mean is that the gate needs to run freely. In Oman the bottom track fills with blown sand, and sand in the track raises rolling resistance, which makes the motor pull harder, which raises current and heat. Sweep the track and check the wheels turn freely a few times a year and this motor will do its job for a long time. Neglect it and any motor in this class will struggle.

The kit includes 4 metres of rack. Rack runs the full length of the gate leaf, so a leaf longer than about 4 metres needs additional sections. Measure your leaf and send us the figure before ordering so the right amount goes out with the motor.

No. It is a model code. The H30/645 is rated for 600 kg, while the H30/640 is rated for 640 kg. Match the full model code, not the number.
Is this the kit or the motor only?
This is the complete kit, with two remotes, a photocell pair, a warning light, a push button, a fixing plate and 4 metres of rack. Roger sells the bare motor separately.
What does the optical encoder do?
It tracks the gate’s exact position, which lets the control unit detect an obstacle and slow the gate smoothly at each end of travel rather than stopping abruptly.
Is the included rack enough for my gate?
The kit includes 4 metres. A gate leaf longer than that needs extra rack sections, which we stock. Measure your leaf before ordering.
