The Life ACER 2000 kg (model AC20RM DL2) is an Italian 230V sliding gate motor. It takes gates up to 2000 kg. It is the heaviest motor in the ACER range, but not the hardest working. Life’s manual gives the AC20RM more thrust but a lower duty rating than the AC15RM. A gate that moves all day, such as a factory yard, needs a conversation before you order. For a gate above 2000 kg, ask us about the CAME BY 3500T.
Life ACER 2000 kg speed and gate travel time
The AC20RM moves the gate at 8 metres a minute, about 0.13 m/s. That is about 45 seconds for a 6 metre gate and 75 seconds for a 10 metre gate. Some seller pages say 10 metres a minute. Life’s manual gives 10 only for the smallest model, the AC4R.
The encoder slows the gate at each end of travel, with five slowdown levels to choose from.
Magnetic limit switches and the IP55 rating
The M in AC20RM stands for magnetic limit switches. Life rates the magnetic version IP55, and the electromechanical R versions IP44. A magnetic switch has no contact to wear or clog with sand. IP55 adds dust protection and resistance to water jets. The AC20RM also runs on oil lubrication rather than grease.

Anchor plate and rack for a 2000 kg gate
Life requires the anchor plate to be set in concrete for any gate over 300 kg. Expansion plugs alone are not enough. The rack sits with 1 mm of play at the pinion.
The kit includes nylon rack. At this weight we quote steel rack instead. Tell us the gate weight and length, and send a photo of any rack already fitted.

Quoted separately: installation, foundation concrete, steel or extra rack and more remotes and accessories. A gate longer than 4 metres needs more rack than the kit holds.
Installing a Life ACER 2000 kg sliding gate motor in Oman
Our engineer checks the gate weight and rack, then sets the anchor plate in concrete. We fit the rack, set the limit brackets and wire the photocells and flashing light. The gate runs on 2 to 3 cm past each limit. We set the brackets to keep it clear of the stops.
Then we set the slowdowns and obstacle sensitivity, and test to EN 12445 as Life requires. Life asks for a professional test every 6 months.

Can the Life ACER 2000 kg move a 2000 kg gate?
Yes, up to 2000 kg. Weigh the gate leaf rather than guess, and tell us how often it runs. The duty rating is 40%.
Is the Life ACER AC20RM better than the AC15RM?
Only for a heavier gate. It has more thrust, 1800 N against 1500 N, but a lower duty rating, 40% against 50%.
How fast does the Life ACER 2000 kg move a gate?
About 8 metres a minute. A 10 metre gate takes about 75 seconds to open. Life’s manual gives this speed for the AC20RM.
