The Nice Robo 600 (model RO600) is an Italian 230V sliding gate motor for residential gates up to 600 kg. Two limits decide whether it suits your gate. The push force must stay under 150 N, and the gate must be no wider than 8 metres. We stock the complete kit in Al Khuwair for OMR 142.000 and fit it across Oman.
Nice Robo 600 gate weight is not the limit that matters
Nice publishes two thrust figures for this motor. Peak thrust is 600 N, or 18 Nm. Rated working thrust is 300 N, or 9 Nm.
Nice’s manual tells the fitter to measure the force needed to move the gate along its whole stroke. That force must not exceed 25% of the maximum force, so 150 N. It is roughly 15 kg on a hand scale.
Sand in the track, a bent rail or a worn wheel raises that force without changing the weight. Many seller pages print 600 N as the motor’s power. That is the short peak, not the working figure.

The longest continuous run is 4 minutes. Nice rates the Robo for residential sliding gates only. Seller pages quote 20 cycles per hour, but that is the figure for a gate 6 to 8 metres wide. A short gate gets 40. For a gate wider than 8 metres, ask us about the Nice Robus 1000.
Nice Robo 600 rack: nylon or steel
Nice sells a nylon rack with a metal insert for the Robo, code ROA6. It is rated for gates up to 500 kg. If your gate weighs between 500 and 600 kg, we quote galvanised steel rack instead. Nice lists two steel types. Tell us the gate weight and we will fit the right one.
Nice Robo 600 in Oman heat, dust and salt air
The Robo works from minus 20°C to plus 55°C, which is 5°C more than the Robus. Normal Oman summer heat sits inside that range. IP44 covers splashes and objects over 1 mm, but not fine dust. Keep the track clear and the wheels greased.
Nice asks for a service at most every 6 months, or after 20,000 movements. Coastal salt air and desert sand make the 6 month visit worth keeping.

The Robo is the simpler installation, with the receiver already inside. The Nice Robus 600 is faster, runs longer and can keep working in a power cut. Both are Nice motors for the same 600 kg class.

Quoted separately: installation, foundation concrete, extra or steel rack and more remotes and accessories. The rack must cover the full travel of the gate, so a gate much longer than 4 metres needs more.
Installing a Nice Robo 600 sliding gate motor in Oman
Our engineer starts with the push force test and checks the track and wheels. The motor sits on a fixing plate with four fixing points. Nice made the plate to replace an existing Nice installation quickly. We set the rack 1 to 2 mm clear of the pinion along the whole gate.
Then we fit the limit brackets, wire the photocells and pair the remotes. The release lever moves the gate by hand in a power cut. A BUS T4 port takes Nice WiFi and Z Wave modules, sold separately.

Can the Nice Robo 600 move a 600 kg gate?
Yes, if the push force stays under 150 N and the gate is no wider than 8 metres. Above 500 kg we fit steel rack, not nylon. Send us your gate details and we will tell you if it suits.
How often can the Nice Robo 600 open and close?
Up to 40 cycles an hour on gates up to 4 metres. That falls to 25 from 4 to 6 metres and 20 from 6 to 8 metres. The longest continuous run is 4 minutes. Nice rates it for residential gates.
Is the Nice Robo 600 the same as the Robus 600?
No. The Robo is a 230V mains motor with a built in receiver. The Robus is a 24V motor with BlueBUS and an optional back up battery.
