The Nice Robus 1000 (model RB1000) is an Italian 24V sliding gate motor. It takes gates up to 1000 kg and 12 metres. One number decides whether it suits your gate, and it is not the 1000 kg. It is the push force your gate needs, which must stay under 250 N. We stock the complete kit in Al Khuwair for OMR 206.000 and fit it across Oman.
Nice Robus 1000 gate weight is not the limit that matters
Nice publishes two thrust figures for this motor. Peak start up thrust is 900 N, or 27 Nm. Nominal working thrust is 500 N, or 15 Nm.
Nice’s installation manual tells the fitter to measure the force needed to move the gate along its whole path. That force must stay below half of the nominal figure, so 250 N. It is roughly 25 kg on a hand scale.
Sand in the track, a bent rail or a worn wheel raises that force without changing the weight. Many seller pages print 900 N as the motor’s working force. That is the short peak, not the figure your gate is judged against.
Cycles per hour and the residential rating
Nice limits cycles by gate length.
| Gate length | Cycles per hour |
|---|---|
| Up to 4 metres | 50 |
| Up to 8 metres | 25 |
The daily limit is 150 cycles, and the longest continuous run is 5 minutes. Nice lists the RB1000 for residential use. Seller pages often quote 50 cycles per hour with no gate length, and that only applies up to 4 metres. The manual gives no hourly figure beyond 8 metres, so ask us about any longer gate. A large villa or a compound entrance sits well inside these limits. A busy yard does not.
Nice Robus 1000 in Oman heat, dust and salt air
Nice scores wear in a severity index. Heat above 40°C or humidity above 80% adds 10%. Dust and sand add 15%. Salt air adds 20%.
Muscat, Sohar, Sur and Salalah can hit all three. That is 45% of the wear budget gone before weight and gate length count. Estimated life runs from 20,000 to 250,000 cycles, depending on that index.
Nice asks for a service at least every 6 months, or after 20,000 movements. The motor has a manoeuvre counter that flags when service is due. IP44 covers splashes and objects over 1 mm, but not fine dust. Keep the track clear and the wheels greased.
RB1000 or the newer RBS800, which Robus is this?
Nice now sells a newer Robus generation, called RBS400, RBS600 and RBS800. It covers gates from 400 to 800 kg.
That leaves the RB1000 as the Robus for gates between 800 and 1000 kg. It has the RBA3 control unit, an electromechanical limit switch and BlueBUS. Parts differ between generations, so quote the code on your motor label when ordering spares.

The Robus 1000 pulls harder and reaches further. It also runs slower and has a shorter continuous limit. If your gate passes the test under 150 N, our Nice Robus 600 is enough.
What is included in the Nice Robus 1000 kit
- One Nice RB1000 24V motor with integrated RBA3 control unit
- Two Nice FLO2RE remote controls
- One pair of Nice EPMB BlueBUS photocells
- One Nice OXI radio receiver
- Four nylon racks, one metre each
- One push button
Quoted separately: installation, extra rack, foundation concrete and a flashing light. The optional PS124 back up battery and more remotes and accessories are available too. The rack must cover the full travel of the gate. A 12 metre gate needs far more than the 4 metres in the kit.
Installing a Nice Robus 1000 sliding gate motor in Oman
Our engineer starts with the push force test and checks the track and wheels. The motor sits on a foundation plate with two anchor bolts. We set the rack 1 to 2 mm clear of the pinion along the whole gate.
Then we fit the limit brackets and wire the photocells. BlueBUS carries up to 15 devices on two wires, and the control unit learns the gate length on its own. A two leaf gate uses two motors, one Master and one Slave. The key release moves the gate by hand in a power cut.
Sliding gate motor installation for large villas and compounds across every governorate
We install in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Salalah, Sur, Duqm and every other governorate. See our sliding gate motors, the Nice range, gate spare parts or our installation service.
Common questions
Can the Nice Robus 1000 move a 1000 kg gate?
Yes, if the push force stays under 250 N along the whole travel. Weight alone does not decide it. Send us your gate details and we will tell you if it suits.
How often can the Nice Robus 1000 open and close?
Up to 50 cycles an hour on gates up to 4 metres, and 25 an hour up to 8 metres. The limit is 150 cycles a day. Nice rates it for residential use.
Is the Nice Robus 1000 better than the Robus 600?
Only for heavier or longer gates. It pulls harder and reaches 12 metres, but runs slower with a 5 minute continuous limit. A gate under 150 N needs only the Robus 600.
What does the Nice Robus 1000 kit cost?
OMR 206.000 for the kit with motor, photocells, two remotes, receiver and 4 metres of rack. Payment is cash on delivery. Installation is quoted separately.
