The Nice RBS600 is an Italian 24V sliding gate motor. It takes gates up to 600 kg and 8 metres. One number decides whether it suits your gate, and it is not the 600 kg. It is the push force your gate needs, which must stay under 165 N. We stock the complete kit in Al Khuwair for OMR 141.000 and fit it across Oman.
Nice RBS600 gate weight is not the limit that matters
Nice publishes two thrust figures for this motor. Start peak thrust is 700 N, or 21.1 Nm. Rated working thrust is 330 N, or 10 Nm.
Nice’s manual tells the fitter to measure the force needed to move the gate along its whole path. That force must stay below half of the rated figure, so 165 N. It is roughly 17 kg on a hand scale.
Sand in the track, a bent rail or a worn wheel raises that force without changing the weight. Many seller pages print 600 N as the motor’s power. That is not Nice’s working figure.
Nice RBS600 in Oman heat, dust and salt air
Nice scores wear in a severity index, and the motor is rated for residential use. Heat above 40°C or humidity above 80% adds 10%. Dust and sand add 15%. Salt air adds 20%.

Nice says an index above 100% is beyond the limit, and calls for a larger motor. A 400 kg gate near the coast sits inside the limit. A full 600 kg gate with all three Oman factors does not, so ask us about the Robus 800. Tell us your gate weight and we will check.

The daily limit is 100 cycles, and the longest continuous run is 7 minutes. A villa fits well inside these limits. A shared entrance or a busy yard does not.

Nice rates its standard nylon rack, ROA6, for gates up to 500 kg. For a gate from 500 to 600 kg we quote the stronger six point nylon rack or steel rack instead.
Installing a Nice RBS600 sliding gate motor in Oman
Our engineer starts with the push force test and checks the track and wheels. The motor sits on a foundation plate cast level in concrete. We set the pinion 1 to 2 mm clear of the rack.
Then we fit the magnetic limit bracket and wire the photocells. BlueBUS carries up to 15 devices on two wires, and the control unit learns the gate length on its own. A two leaf gate uses two motors, one Master and one Slave. The key release moves the gate by hand in a power cut.
Nice asks for service within 6 months, or 2,000 manoeuvres, since the last visit. At 30 cycles a day, that is about every two months. We book the visit for you.

Common questions
Can the Nice RBS600 move a 600 kg gate?
Only if the push force stays under 165 N. In Oman heat, dust and salt, Nice’s wear index puts a full 600 kg gate past its limit. Send us your gate details and we will tell you if it suits.
Is the Nice RBS600 the same as the Robus 600?
No. The RBS600 is the newer generation, with a magnetic limit switch and a built in receiver. The RB600 uses the RBA3 board and a plug in receiver.
How often does the Nice RBS600 need servicing?
Nice asks for service within 6 months or 2,000 manoeuvres, whichever comes first. We can book the visit.
What does the Nice RBS600 kit cost?
OMR 141.000 for the kit with motor, photocells, two remotes, flashing light and 4 metres of rack. Payment is cash on delivery. Installation is quoted separately.
