The DEA Livi 6N is an Italian 230V sliding gate motor kit for gates up to 600 kg. Two things decide whether it suits your gate, and neither is the 600 kg. Each time a car leaves and returns, the gate does two cycles. So 60 cycles is about 30 car trips a day. A family villa sits well inside that. A shared compound, a shop or a staff yard does not. The motor moves the gate at 10 metres a minute. A 5 metre gate takes about 30 seconds to open.
DEA Livi 6N is rated IPX4, with no dust rating
DEA lists the 6N as IPX4. The X means the motor is not rated for dust at all. IPX4 covers splashing water. It says nothing about sand. Oman has plenty of both, so keep the cover on, the track clear and the rack clean. The magnetic 6N/M is rated IP44, which adds protection from objects over 1 mm.
The motor works from minus 20°C to plus 50°C. Summer heat inside a closed housing sits at the top of that range.

Some seller pages list the 6N with a 212E board. DEA’s catalogue gives the 6N a NET230N board, and keeps the 212E for the 403N and 803N. Check the label on your unit.

The bigger motor pulls harder, but DEA allows it fewer cycles a day, not more. Pick the 9N for a heavy gate that opens a few times. Pick the 6N for a lighter gate that opens more often.

Installing a DEA Livi 6N sliding gate motor in Oman
Our engineer checks the track, wheels and balance. We fix the plate, set the rack and wire the photocells. The control board sits raised at the front, which keeps it reachable in narrow spaces. Then we set the force, speed and slowdown, and test the anti crushing sensor. The board also works with DEA’s optional NETBOX and Bluetooth adapter for phone setup.

How many times a day can the DEA Livi 6N run?
DEA allows 60 cycles in 24 hours and 18 an hour on a 5 metre gate. That is about 30 car trips a day. A busier gate needs a different motor.
Is the DEA Livi 6N protected against dust?
No. It is rated IPX4, which covers splashing water only. The magnetic 6N/M and the 6X/M are rated IP44.
Is the DEA Livi 6N the same as the Livi 6X/M?
Not quite. The power, thrust and daily limit match. The 6N is the earlier series, with an electromechanical limit switch and no dust rating.
