The DEA Livi 600 (model 6X/M) is an Italian 230V sliding gate motor. It takes gates up to 600 kg. One number decides whether it suits your gate, and it is not the 600 kg. It is the 60 openings a day DEA allows on a 5 metre gate. We stock it in Al Khuwair for OMR 158.000 and fit it across Oman.

Each time a car leaves and returns, the gate does two cycles. So 60 cycles is about 30 car trips a day. A family villa sits well inside that. A shared compound, a shop or a staff yard does not. Many seller pages call this motor “heavy duty” and give no daily figure. DEA’s manual does.
The motor moves the gate at 10 metres a minute. A 5 metre gate takes about 30 seconds to open.

DEA sells one Livi range under many near identical names. The letters decide what you get.

The bigger motor pulls harder, but DEA allows it fewer cycles a day, not more. Pick the 900 for a heavy gate that opens a few times. Pick the 600 for a lighter gate that opens more often.
DEA Livi 600 in Oman heat and dust
The motor works from minus 20°C to plus 50°C, and is rated IP44. IP44 covers splashes and objects over 1 mm, but not fine dust. Muscat and Sohar summers can reach 50°C inside a closed motor housing, which is the top of its range. Keep the cover shaded and the track clear of sand.
DEA asks you to clean the cover, check the screws and test the release lever every 6 months.

Safety, slowdown and the magnet gap
The control unit has an anti crushing sensor, speed control and a slowdown at both ends of travel. The magnets must sit 15 to 30 mm from the sensor. Over 30 mm and the limit may not register. We set the gap and the pinion, 1 to 2 mm clear of the rack, during installation.

Installing a DEA Livi 600 sliding gate motor in Oman
Our engineer checks the track, wheels and balance. The gate must stay put when stopped halfway. We fix the base, set the rack, fit the magnets and wire the photocells. Then we set the force, speed and slowdown, and test the anti crushing sensor.
