Check the SKU before you order, because a 120V version exists
BFT builds this same model in three versions, and the model name alone does not tell you which one is in the box.

The unit we supply is P925224 00002. A 120V motor will not run on Omani mains, and it is the kind of mistake that only surfaces on fitting day. If you are buying this model anywhere, ours included, read the SKU on the box rather than the name on the front.
How to tell which BFT board you have, from the name alone
BFT uses two board families across the Deimos range and the naming is consistent once you know it.

Two things fall out of that. HAMAL or MERAK tells you which line you have. SL1 or SL2 tells you the weight class. So a board marked HAMAL SL2 is a standard Deimos rated to 600 kg, which is exactly what is fitted here.
This matters when you are ordering a replacement board years from now with the paperwork long gone. Open the housing, read the board, and you know what you have.
Choosing between the A400 and the A600
Both run on 24V, both move at 12 metres per minute, both drive a module 4 rack, and both take a backup battery. The difference is the motor.

Weigh the gate leaf rather than guessing. A gate is heavier than it looks once you count the frame and any cladding, and a motor running permanently near its ceiling wears faster than one running at half. If your leaf is anywhere near 400 kg, the A600 is the safer buy and the price gap is small.
The IP rating, and what we actually know
Two figures are published for this motor and we will not pretend otherwise.

Neither figure is dust tight, and in Oman that is the part that matters. Blown sand loads the bottom track, the gate gets harder to push, the motor pulls more current, and current becomes heat. Site the unit where driven sand does not hit it directly and sweep the track a few times a year. We read the rating plate on the actual unit before it leaves the shop and tell you what it says.

Because this is a 24V motor, it takes a backup battery and the gate still opens during a power cut. That is what BT means in the model name, and it is the practical reason to choose the low voltage range over BFT’s mains powered AC models. See the full split on our BFT brand page.
Rack and what is in the kit
This motor drives a module 4 rack. If your gate already has rack fitted, photograph the teeth and send it to us, because a module 6 rack will not mesh with this pinion.

Installation across Oman
Our engineer sets the fixing plate, fits the rack along the gate leaf, sets the pinion mesh, wires the photocells and blinker, then programs the force, slowdown and D-Track settings for a 600 kg gate.

Common questions
How do I know I am getting the 230V version?
The SKU ends 00002. BFT also builds this model as P925224 00001, which is 120V and will not run on Omani mains. Ours is always the 230V unit.
Should I buy the A400 or the A600?
Weigh your gate leaf. The A400 covers up to 400 kg and the A600 up to 600 kg. If your leaf is close to 400 kg, take the A600, because a motor running near its limit wears faster and the price difference is small.
What board is fitted?
HAMAL SL2. On BFT’s Deimos range, HAMAL means the standard line and MERAK means the Ultra line, while SL1 and SL2 tell you the weight class.
Will it work during a power cut?
Yes, with a backup battery fitted, because this is a 24V motor. The battery is quoted separately.
What is the price?
