BFT builds this 800 kg motor under several closely related product codes, and they are not all the same machine. Third party parts catalogues list one code as the plain 230V version and a different one as an SQ variant, and there is evidence BFT has since renumbered this product entirely under a newer reference. Before your unit leaves the shop, we check the code on the rating plate against current BFT records rather than assume the generic specification below applies exactly.
This is worth taking seriously rather than skimming past. A gate motor bought under the wrong variant assumption is the kind of mistake that only surfaces on fitting day, when it is expensive to fix.
AC or BT, and why this is not the motor for a power cut prone gate
This is a 230V mains motor. It has no battery backup capability, so a power cut stops it exactly like it stops the lights in your house. If your gate is the only vehicle access to the property, or losing it during an outage is a real problem for you, look at the 24V side of our BFT range instead, which takes a backup battery and keeps working.
If mains power where you are is reliable, and it usually is across most of Muscat and the wider governorates, a 230V motor is a perfectly sound choice and costs less than the battery capable equivalent.
No slowdown, and an electronic clutch that partly makes up for it
This motor has no slowdown function, the same trade off as our Deimos AC A600. The gate runs at full speed until it reaches each end of travel, then stops there, rather than easing in the way our 24V models do.
What it does have, and this is a genuine step up from the A600, is an electronic clutch for obstacle detection instead of a purely mechanical one. The control board reads the motor’s load electronically and can react to resistance more precisely than a mechanical clutch alone. It is not the same as slowdown, but it means the motor is not blind to what it is pushing against, which matters on a heavier 800 kg gate more than it does on a lighter one.

Semi intensive suits a villa gate or a moderately used commercial entrance well. It is a step below the intensive rating on our 24V BT range, so a shared compound gate opening very frequently through the day is better matched to a BT model rather than this one.

Weigh your gate leaf before choosing between the 600 kg and 800 kg versions. A gate carries more weight than it looks like it does once you count the frame and any infill, and a motor running near its ceiling wears faster than one running comfortably under it.

Check your rack before you order
This motor drives a module 4 rack. If your gate already has rack fitted from an earlier motor, photograph the tooth profile and send it to us on WhatsApp before ordering, because a module 6 rack will not mesh with this pinion and the two are not interchangeable.

Does it take a backup battery?
No, not as standard. This is a 230V mains motor with no built in battery backup option. If power continuity matters for your gate, our 24V BT range is built for that instead.
Does the gate slow down before stopping?
No. It runs at full speed until it reaches each end of travel. It does have an electronic clutch, which senses an obstacle and reacts to it even without a smooth slowdown built in.
Should I buy the 600kg or the 800kg version?
Weigh your gate leaf rather than guess from its size. If it is anywhere near 600 kg, the 800 kg version is the safer buy, since a motor running near its rated limit wears faster over time.
Will it work with the rack already on my gate?
Only if that rack is module 4. Photograph the tooth profile and send it to us before ordering so we can confirm it before you buy.
