Why an articulated arm, not a straight ram
Athos uses a jointed, articulated arm rather than a single straight ram. That matters on gates with wide, deep, or oddly positioned pillars, where a straight ram cannot reach far enough around the corner to open the leaf fully. The lever action of an articulated arm folds around that kind of obstruction in a way a rigid ram simply cannot.
If your pillar is unusually wide, set back from the gate line, or has anything built onto it that a straight arm would collide with, this is the mechanism built for that situation, not a straight ram motor pushed to cope with it.
A25 and A40 rate in opposite directions, read this before choosing
It looks like A40 should simply be the bigger motor. It is not.

A25 carries more weight over a shorter leaf. A40 reaches a longer leaf but only a lighter one. Choose by whichever figure your actual gate hits first, not by which model number sounds bigger.
Left or right handed, and why it is not optional
BFT sells this motor in AL and AR versions, matching which direction your gate leaf swings. Fitting the wrong handing means the arm geometry works against the gate rather than with it. Tell us which way your gate opens before ordering, or send a photograph and we will confirm.
