The weight and power figures do not agree, and here is why that matters
The same Life Optimo OP3 UNI part number is published with two different ratings across regional resellers. One detailed technical source lists 210 W and an 800 kg maximum gate leaf weight. Two other resellers list 160 W and 700 kg for what is described as the identical model.
We have not picked a side, because both figures come from sellers of the real part, and a genuine production revision could explain the difference honestly. What we do instead is size conservatively. If your gate leaf is close to 700 kg, we confirm the actual rating plate on the unit before it leaves our shop, not after it is fitted.
This is the number that decides whether the motor lifts your gate at all. Everything else on this page is secondary to it.
OP3 UNI is not the same as OP3
Life sells this motor as OP3 and as OP3 UNI, and the difference is mechanical, not cosmetic. OP3 UNI uses a mechanical stop to set the opening and closing limits. The standard OP3 uses an encoder instead.
If you are comparing this listing against a datasheet or another quote, check it names UNI specifically. A mechanical stop version and an encoder version are set up differently on site, and swapping a control board between them does not always work without reconfiguration.

A 35% duty cycle means the motor is built to run for roughly a third of any given period before it needs to rest. On a domestic double leaf gate this is well within normal use. On a gate that opens continuously through the day for a busy compound entrance, ask us before ordering whether this motor or a higher duty cycle model suits you better.
What is included
- Two Life Optimo OP3 UNI 230V motors, for a double leaf gate
- One Life control unit with an integrated receiver
- One pair of outdoor safety photocells
- One flashing warning light
- Two rolling code remote controls
- Motor fixing brackets for both leaves
Quoted separately: installation, a key switch or keypad if you want one, and any additional remotes beyond the two supplied.
Installation
Both motors mount to the gate pillars using the supplied brackets, with the ram running from pillar to gate leaf. Our engineer sets the mechanical opening and closing stops, wires both motors to the shared control board, pairs the photocells and remotes, and tests the full opening cycle before handover.
We install across all eleven governorates from our shop in Al Khuwair.
Common questions
Will this lift my gate?
It depends which weight rating your unit carries, 700 kg or 800 kg. Send us your gate leaf weight and we confirm against the actual rating plate before you order.
Is this for one gate leaf or two?
Two. This kit includes a motor for each leaf of a double leaf gate. A single leaf gate needs only one motor, which we can quote separately.
What is the difference between OP3 and OP3 UNI?
OP3 UNI sets its opening and closing limits with a mechanical stop. The standard OP3 uses an encoder instead. This unit is the UNI version.
Does the duty cycle matter for a home gate?
Not usually. A 35% duty cycle comfortably covers normal daily use on a villa or compound gate. It matters more on a gate that opens very frequently through the day.
