The Somfy Ilmo 50 WT is a tubular motor that fits inside the drum of a rolling shutter, so nothing shows once it is installed. It runs on 230 V and fits any tube with a minimum internal diameter of 47 mm. We hold it in Al Khuwair and fit it, or supply it to installers and shutter fabricators across Oman.
Choosing the torque
The Ilmo 50 WT is made in six torque ratings, and the torque is what decides which shutter it can lift. Buying the wrong one is the most common mistake with tubular motors, because the tube fits regardless of torque and the motor will run, briefly, before it stalls under a curtain heavier than it is rated for.

What is included
The motor, the Ilmo 2 WT circuit board module, the 3 metre connecting cable and the motor connector. The drum adaptor, end caps and crown are matched to your shutter tube and quoted separately, because they vary by manufacturer.
Automatic protection
End position detection sets and remembers the fully open and fully closed points without manual adjustment. Obstacle detection stops the shutter in both directions if it meets resistance, rather than forcing through it. Frost protection prevents operation when the mechanism is likely to be iced, which matters less in Oman than in Europe, but the electronics are the same worldwide.
Installation
Fitted inside the shutter tube using the clip system, wired to a wall switch or a timer, and the limits set on site. A straightforward domestic shutter is usually a same day job. We also supply the motor alone to installers who prefer to fit it themselves.
Common questions
My shutter motor hums but does not move
Usually a torque mismatch or a seized curtain rather than a motor fault. Tell us what the shutter is doing and we will help you work out which.
Can I get it in a higher torque than 35 Nm

Do you fit it, or supply it only
