300 kg is per leaf, not for the whole gate
This figure is quoted loosely almost everywhere, so it is worth being precise. SOMMER rates the Twist 200E at 300 kg and 2.5 metres per gate leaf. Because this is a two leaf set with a motor on each side, a double gate of two 300 kg leaves is within its rating.
Measure one leaf, not the pair, and send us that figure along with the width.
A residential swing gate motor, and the duty cycle says so
The Twist 200E is rated at a 15 percent duty cycle. That means the motor is designed to run for roughly fifteen minutes in any hundred, then rest.
For a villa gate that opens a handful of times a day, that is ample and you will never reach it. For a shared compound entrance, a staff car park or anywhere the gate cycles all day, this is the wrong motor and we will tell you so rather than sell it to you. Compare it against the rest of our swing gate motors, several of which are rated two to four times higher.
What the two pulling force figures mean on a Sommer swing gate motor
You will see two numbers quoted, and they are not the same thing.

The rated figure is the one to plan around. Quoting 2000 N without the context makes this motor sound three times stronger than it behaves day to day.
868 MHz SOMloq2 radio, and why your other remotes will not work
SOMMER runs its radio at 868.950 MHz using SOMloq2 encryption. Almost every Italian brand we stock, BFT, CAME, Nice, Life, Roger and RIB, runs at 433.92 MHz instead.
That means a remote from any of those will not open a Sommer gate, and a Sommer remote will not open theirs. If you already have gates on another brand and want one fob for both, tell us before ordering and we will work out what is actually possible. The receiver here holds 40 transmitters as supplied, expandable to 450.
Mixing Twist models needs a conversion set
SOMMER’s Twist range runs Twist 200E, Twist 350 and Twist XL. The 350 and XL mix freely with each other. A Twist 200E operator with a Twist 350 or XL control unit needs a separate twist XS conversion set.
This matters if you are replacing one motor of a failed pair, or adding a second gate later and hoping to run it from the same board. Tell us what is already installed and we will confirm what pairs with what.

Common questions about the Sommer Twist 200E in Oman
Is the 300 kg per leaf or for the whole gate?
Per leaf. SOMMER rates the Twist 200E at 300 kg and 2.5 metres for each gate leaf, and this kit includes a motor for each side.
Can I use it on a busy compound gate?
We would not recommend it. Its duty cycle is 15 percent, which suits a villa gate opening a few times a day. For a busy entrance we would point you to a higher rated motor instead.
Will my existing remote work with it?
Only if it is a Sommer remote. Sommer runs at 868.950 MHz while most Italian brands run at 433.92 MHz, so remotes are not interchangeable between them.
Do I need an electric lock as well?
No. The Twist 200E is self locking, so the gate holds shut without a separate lock fitted.
