Check the ground beneath your gate’s swing path first
The Euromatic Compass drives on a wheel that travels along the ground as the gate opens, rather than pushing with a ram. Because of this, the ground under the gate’s path needs to be reasonably level, tolerating a rise or fall of up to 200 mm.
A raised threshold, a drainage channel, or a steep kerb across the gate’s swing path can stop the wheel tracking correctly. This is not a concern with a ram or arm mounted motor, which never touches the ground, so it is worth checking specifically for this model.
Built for sloped driveways up to 12 degrees
The same wheel drive mechanism that requires a level path is also why this motor handles a sloped driveway better than most. The Compass is rated to 12 degrees of slope, which suits many Omani villa entrances built on a rise.

The duty cycle difference between versions matters. A quiet villa gate opening a handful of times a day suits the standard 230V version well. A busy compound entrance opening many times a day is better matched to the 24V version, which is rated to run through far more cycles without rest.

Installation
Our engineer checks the ground level along the gate’s full swing path before fitting, confirms the slope is within the motor’s rated tolerance, mounts the wheel drive unit, and sets up the control board, photocells and remotes.
