The Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 is a ceiling mounted garage door opener from Somfy. It takes sectional and up and over doors up to 15 square metres. This kit is the 3S RTS version. It uses Somfy RTS remotes, not the newer io remotes. Somfy also limits it to 20 cycles a day on the standard rail. We stock the kit in Al Khuwair for OMR 138.000 and fit it across Oman.
Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 3S RTS is not the io version
| Dexxo Pro 1000 3S RTS, this kit | Dexxo Pro 1000 io | |
|---|---|---|
| Radio system | Somfy RTS | Somfy io homecontrol |
| Frequency | 433.42 MHz | 868 to 870 MHz |
| Remotes that work | RTS remotes | io remotes |
| Peak force | 1000 N | 1000 N |
The two radio systems do not talk to each other. An RTS remote will not open an io motor, and an io remote will not open this kit. Check the label before you buy a spare remote. The kit includes two RTS remotes, and the motor learns up to 32 channels.
Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 daily limit by rail type
| Rail | Cycles per day | Tested life |
|---|---|---|
| Standard chain rail | 20 | 36,500 cycles |
| High performance rail | 50 | 90,000 cycles |
Somfy sets the daily limit by the rail you fit. Each time a car leaves and returns, the door does two cycles. So 20 cycles is about 10 car trips a day. A family garage sits inside that. A busy household with several drivers may not. Tell us how many cars use the door, and we will check which rail you need.
Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 door size and door type
| Door | What Somfy says |
|---|---|
| Sectional door | Add a sectional door adapter above 10 square metres |
| Up and over door | Fits as standard |
| Side sliding door | Needs a special arm kit |
| Swinging door | Needs a special swing door kit |
The motor takes doors up to 15 square metres. Somfy’s manual calls for a sectional door adapter above 10 square metres. A double garage door 5 metres wide and 2.2 metres high is 11 square metres. It needs that adapter. Send us your door size and we will quote it in the price.
Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 obstacle detection and safety
The motor has built in obstacle detection with four sensitivity levels. If it meets an obstacle on closing, it reopens. On opening, it stops. The kit also has photocells. Somfy asks the installer to test the stop with an obstacle 50 mm off the floor. We do that test and show you the result.
Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 indoor fitting and Oman heat
The motor works from minus 20°C to plus 60°C. It is for indoor, dry fitting and has no dust or water rating. Mount it inside the garage, not outdoors. The temperature range covers a hot closed garage in summer. Keep the rail clean of dust.

Installing a Somfy Dexxo Pro 1000 garage door opener in Oman
Our engineer checks that the door is in good order and balanced. A door that binds will wear the motor fast. The motor needs at least 35 mm of headroom above the door. We fix the bracket and the rail to the ceiling. We hang the motor and set the manual release cord within reach. Then the motor learns the door travel by itself. We set the obstacle sensitivity, wire the photocells and pair your remotes. We show you how the release works before we leave.
Garage door opener installation for villas across every governorate
We install in Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, Salalah, Sur, Duqm and every other governorate. See our garage door openers, the Somfy range or our installation service. We also supply sectional garage doors. For another opener, see the LiftMaster LM80EV.
